June 2023

One evening while staying in Sorrento, we were treated to a scrumptious, fun-filled rustic farmhouse dinner at the Agriturismo Fattoria Terranova in the hills of the Sorrento Peninsula.

Greeted by the dapper Antonello, dressed in a crisp white suit, we were promptly ushered down the hillside staircase and into their beautifully decorated "farmhouse" restaurant. On our way in, we passed the adorable German Shepherd puppy, Mia, who was strategically laying in the middle of our path so we'd be sure to stop and give her some much deserved attention. With delicious smells wafting through the air, we were seated and given our first tasting of a light, crisp Prosecco, accompanied by some delicious bites.

Talk about fresh ingredients! The produce they served was grown onsite.

After more wine pairings and more dishes, and closing the meal with a yummy Lemon Cream cake accompanied by house-made Limoncello, Antonello came out with the facemask blindfolds for the tasting competition. Laughter was abundant as our "volunteer" tasters put their skills to work. Not telling who won, but all participants were awarded a special certificate.

Several cases of their wine and Prosecco were shipped to our respective homes. Alas, that was a year and a half ago, and I would love to have some now, however it has all been consumed. Time to go back!

Have you ever driven with an Italian? How about on the back of a golfcart, out of the depths of a mountain ravine on the Amalfi Coast, after several rounds of a bevy of libations? Not for the faint of heart, but SO MUCH FUN! Another unforgettable day in an amazing place with some very special people.
